(NEWSER– Police have lifted the security lockdown at the US Capitol after gunfire rang out on Capitol Hill this afternoon. Details were still developing, but eyewitnesses say they saw police fire on a black sedan and that two people from the car were taken into custody. One appeared to be wounded by gunfire. Secret Service says the car first slammed into a White House gate and then raced to the Capitol, reports Politico. Police say that one officer has been injured. Both the House and Senate went into recess immediately, reports CNN.
