Despite rumors, Ed Sheeran and his girlfriend, Cherry Seaborn, are NOT engaged.
Allegations were cleared when Fitzy & Wippa asked Sheeran about these engagement rumors on their radio show. Sheeran responded, “You know, he’s [Crowe] only met Cherry once and I didn’t introduce her. I didn’t say anything…I think he just assumed. But no, we’re not engaged.”
The rumors emerged when hockey player Russell Crowe mistakenly referred to Seaborn as Sheeran’s “fiancée” during a Facebook Live chat.
Interestingly enough, both attended Thomas Mills High School in Suffolk, England, but the couple didn’t start dating until July 2015.
Seaborn is the reason he took a year off of music. The two were “basically like, let’s quit our jobs and have a year of forming a tight bond.”
Although both aren’t engaged yet, Sheeran admits that settling down is something he’s been looking forward to doing. In fact, he wants kids ASAP. “I wanted to be a dad, like, last year. I’m ready, let’s go—tour bus babies, little fat, chubby babies that just walk around.”
Speaking of Ed, his song, “Shape of You,” has set a record for being the first song to spend its first 20 weeks in the Top 5 of the Hot 100.
