Usually, the fashion at the Grammys is a lot more unconventional than typical award ceremonies. And while there wasn’t a TON of that last night, there were a few interesting choices. Here are some highlights…
For starters, a lot of celebrities were wearing white roses or other flowers in solidarity with the ‘Time’s Up’ and #MeToo movements. Some had ‘Time’s Up’ pins, and others MAY have showed their support by wearing black, but it’s hard to say since wearing black wasn’t a ‘thing’ like it was at the Golden Globes.
Lorde had a message STITCHED INTO the back of her red gown. It said, “Rejoice! Our times are intolerable. Take courage, for the worst is a harbinger of the best. Only dire circumstance can precipitate the overthrow of oppressors.
“The old and corrupt must be laid to waste before the just can triumph. Contradiction will be heightened. The reckoning will be hastened by the staging of seed disturbances. The apocalypse will blossom.”
It isn’t her quote, it’s by an artist named Jenny Holzer. Speaking of Lorde, she also brought a FLASK.
