Fergie performed a fascinating rendition of the national anthem at the NBA All-Star Game this weekend . . . and yesterday, she explained what she was aiming for.

She said, quote, “I’ve always been honored and proud to perform the national anthem, and last night I wanted to try something special for the NBA.  I’m a risk taker artistically, but clearly this rendition didn’t strike the intended tone.

“I love this country and honestly tried my best.”

Meanwhile,Roseanne Barr said Fergie’s take was even worse than her notorious anthem performance at a baseball game in 1990 . . . and she was intentionally trying to be bad.  (Here’s video.)

(Here’s Fergie rehearsing her performance . . . and the Internet is also reminding us that Fergie performed a bad anthem back in 2011 as well.)

(Meanwhile, Fergie’s ex, Josh Duhamel, may have tried to lift her spirits.  He brought flowers when he dropped their son off at her house yesterday.)
