There weren’t too many wild fashion moments at last night’s Academy Awards, which isn’t surprising since it’s usually a more conservative show, at least in terms of dress code.

But this year it was a lot more colorful than the Golden Globes, where almost everyone wore black in support of the “Me Too” and “Time’s Up” movements.

The founder of the #MeToo movement Tarana Burke said there were no planned fashion statements this time around… “We did the dress code thing [at the Globes], and now we’re doing the work.”

Here’s a rundown of a few other things people are talking about:

Some people wore orange…American flag pins on the red carpet to raise awareness for gun violence in the wake of the school shooting in Parkland, Florida last month.

Tiffany Haddish wore a cream-colored gown with a black cape that was embroidered in black and gold.  The dress is a tribute to her father, who was from the northeast African country of Eritrea and passed away last year.

She said, “He said one day I’d end up here and if I ever ended up at the Oscars to honor my people so I’m honoring my fellow Eritreans.”

Later, when she was presenting, she wore her favorite dress, which she also wore when hosting “SNL”.

Jordan Peele wore a golden deer antler pin…with little red blood spatters…on his lapel.  It’s a reference to the deer symbolism throughout his movie “Get Out”.

Helen Mirren took on the role of a ‘Barker’s Beauty’ when she modeled the jet ski that Jimmy Kimmel gave away.  Oh, and here’s Helen downing a shot of tequila on the red carpet.

Speaking of bad-ass actresses and their alcohol, Jennifer Lawrence was photographed climbing over some chairs…while holding a glass of wine.

Whoopi Goldberg in a dress?  It happened.  She was wearing a colorful floral gown with boots, black circular shades, and an assortment of jewelry.  She said that the designer wanted her to be comfortable, so he added pockets.

Jane Fonda is 80, and she looked amazing.  She wore a white dress that showed off her, quote, “youthful physique.”

Rita Moreno recycled her 1962 Oscars dress…56 years later.  Back then, there wasn’t even a red carpet.  She won Best Supporting Actress for her role as Anita in “West Side Story” in 1962.  (Here’s video of her talking about it.)

Nicole Kidman was cool enough to introduce herself to some people on a Hollywood tour bus…before she had her hair and makeup done.  (Here’s video.)

Oscar-winning “Call Me By Your Name” screenwriter James Ivory wore a shirt that had star Timothée Chalamet’s face on it, which was a little weird.  He was even wearing it when he won.

Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon showed up… wearing a bondage-themed tux.  A person complimented him on his look, and he said, “Thank you, just something subtle.”

Emma Stone wore a ‘colorblocked’ suit on the red carpet.  It had a bow, and there were a fair amount of other people wearing bows.

Margot Robbie had a bit of a wardrobe malfunction when one of her dress straps broke.  But she somehow got her hands on a sewing kit, and fixed it herself.  (There aren’t any good photos, but People.com has a story on it.)
