Ready Player One” Takes the Box Office Crown, “Black Panther” Falls to 3rd

                            

Steven Spielberg’s “Ready Player One” opened at the top of the box office with $41.2 million.  “Tyler Perry’s Acrimony”came in second with $17.1 million, while “Black Panther” fell to third, with $11.3 million.

But “Panther” is up to $650.7 million in the U.S., where it’s less than $2 million shy of taking 4th place on the all-time list.  Worldwide it’s at $1.27 billion, just a shade outside the Top 10.  Anyway, here’s this weekend’s Top 10…

1.  New:  “Ready Player One”, $41.2 million.

2.  New:  “Tyler Perry’s Acrimony”, $17.1 million.

3.  “Black Panther”, $11.3 million.  Up to $650.7 million in its 7th week.

4.  “I Can Only Imagine”, $10.8 million.  Up to $55.6 million in its 3rd week.

5.  “Pacific Rim Uprising”, $9.2 million.  Up to $45.7 million in its 2nd week.

6.  “Sherlock Gnomes”, $7 million.  Up to $22.8 million in its 2nd week.

7.  “Love, Simon”, $4.8 million.  Up to $32.1 million in its 3rd week.

8.  “Tomb Raider”, $4.7 million.  Up to $50.5 million in its 3rd week.

9.  “A Wrinkle in Time”, $4.69 million.  Up to $83.3 million in its 4th week.

10.  “Paul, Apostle of Christ”, $3.5 million.  Up to $11.5 million in its 2nd week.
