So sad to hear that Fort Worth's own, Bill Paxton passed away over the weekend! I feel SOOOO lucky to have had an opportunity to kinda meet Mr. Paxton. Wayyyyyyy back in the day, when I was a baby deejay, I was a morning show producer. One of my jobs was to schedule interviews with actors and when they called in for their chat time I would prep them for their interviews. .
The day that Bill Paxton called in, he was sitting in a green room at WFAA. He was a little early for his scheduled time, so I asked him to hold on so I could get him on early. He said he wasn't in a rush, so we ended up chatting for about 10 minutes. He was SUPER funny and friendly and personable. He knew I was just a producer and that we weren't on the air or anything and he still treated me with respect. I asked him if he liked being back home in DFW and he said yes, that he doesn't get back as often as he would like too. If you haven't seen Tombstone yet, it's my all time favorite movie and I love Bill Paxton in it!
I am praying for his family and friends who must be devastated to have lost such a loving man.
