NBC’s Is Giving “This Is Us” A Prime Slot + Other Renewals and Cancellations

Last week, NBC canceled “Timeless,” but fans of the show freaked out, so over the weekend, they changed their minds and renewed it for a second season.

The other shows NBC renewed are:  “Better Late Than Never”, “The Blacklist”, “Blindspot”, “Chicago Fire”, “Chicago Med”, “Chicago P.D.”, “Dateline NBC”, “The Good Place”, “Great News”, “Little Big Shots”, “Shades of Blue”, “Superstore”, “Taken”, “This Is Us”, “The Voice”, and “The Wall”.

They also renewed “Law & Order: SVU” for a 19th season.  Only two other drama shows have lasted that long . . . the original “Law & Order” and “Gunsmoke”, which both lasted 20 seasons.

The shows NBC is NOT bringing back include:  “Aquarius”, “The Blacklist: Redemption”, “Emerald City”, “Grimm”, “Powerless”, and we’re assuming that they’re putting “Celebrity Apprentice” out of its misery . . . but there hasn’t been anything official on that yet.

The fate of “Chicago Justice” is still unknown . . . and NBC also hasn’t said anything about the sitcom “Trial & Error.”
